Incoming Caller can hear an echo

The speaker an mic configuration as will all speaker phone systems will product a certain amount of vocal echo. The DSP (Digital Signal Processing) echo cancellation only works on milli-seconds and will eliminate background echo, but as the voice takes time to travel from phone to phone via carrier wave, then phone to speaker via bluetooth, the delay can be longer causing a vocal echo.

No volume
After the phone is connected to the speaker make sure that the phones bluetooth volume is at maximum as some phone default to 50% volume. Next check the speakers volume level. Please note that some phones have a separate volume control for bluetooth. In some cases you will need to make sure that the speaker is the audio output (This is more common with Apple phones).

Poor Quality Sound
This is cause by the phones cache being full or nearing full. Empty the phones cache (see your phones manufacturer for instructions) and restart the phone.

You may experience issues with Windows Mobile OS based phones, Nokia, Motorola, Medion and other budget makes. The unit may pair but you will have no response from the speaker.
